Alcaidesa Heathland

Location: Sotogrande

The course offers a variety of natural landscapes, ranging from the plateau area (holes 1 to 5 & 17 & 18) where the course has the feel of a Heathland course with wide fairways and outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea, as well as the local mountain ranges (including the sierra Nevada), to the river valley where the holes meander along the valley and incorporate various water hazards.

Alcaidesa's new Club House is located between our two golf courses, majestically standing on the highest point of the resort, and offering amazing views of the Costa del Sol, with its avant-garde architecture, and it's 3000m² of surface area, it is a fine example of how to blend space and the Andalusian style.

 

Alferini

The layout is very challenging with long fairways and wide greens. Each tee has 5 starting platforms, making it a stern but fair test of golf for all players. Furthermore, the course has breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Set in a valley, it is isolated from buildings and noise. Also, it features 2 lakes and is surrounded by a stream that comes into play on most of the holes.-04

 

Almenara

Alhaurín Golf offers a truly spectacular 18 hole course It allows players to use all the clubs in the bag, ensuring a great day of golf where every hole is different

The course is made up of 5 par fives, 5 par threes and 8 par fours providing a balanced game for low and high handicappers alike. This course has the best views over the Costa del Sol!

Built amongst the naturally hilly terrain making buggies a must, players will be met by a course which features long and tight fairways throughout this Seve Ballesteros designed round. Water hazards and bunkers add additional protection to this course, which will provide a true test of golf to players of all levels

 

Aloha

Located in the Golf Valley, in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, Aloha is an exclusive club that has one of the most beautiful and outstanding golf courses in Spain. This course was designed by Javier Arana, technician and strategian, and has hosted the Andalusían Open Tournament, PGA European Tour, in 2007, 2008 and 2012, standing as a reference point for both professional and amateurs who wish to enjoy the real essence of golf in a unique course.

It has 5 long holes (1st, 4th, 10th 13th and 18th) where the strength and precision become essential.

On the remaining holes, the technique and strategy of the player will have to be applied at their most guaranteeing you a rewarding result. These holes also feature several unexpected "secrets" for those a bit lackadaisical. The high number of trees and obstacles rightly placed, the rough that complicates the stroke to the fairway and the peculiar greens, that are fast and uneven, allow the most skilled players get high performance of their game.

 

Atalaya Old

Atalaya Old Course is a popular destination for holiday golfers. Laid out on easily walkable flat parkland, this well established tree lined course offers quality golf for players of all handicaps. Atalaya makes excellent use of its natural surroundings, and though relatively short by modern standards, lakes and brooks are in play on several holes in a more subtle manner than many of its contemporaries.

 

Atalaya New

Location: Estepona

Atalaya´s New course was inaugurated in 1990. It is close to the Old Course but goes inland towards the mountains. Its strategic position gives it spectacular panoramic views. It is a course which is suitable for beginners as it is the shorter of the two courses.

 

Cabopino

Location: Marbella

  

Golf Course Guide:

Whilst not the longest course in the area, Cabopino provides a good test of golf due to its tight layout in places. Spectacular views are a feature of the course due to its undulating nature, with the third hole in particular providing a memory that will not be quickly forgotten!

A buggy is probably a sensible option, though not a necessity. Greens are well protected by bunkers, so accuracy from the fairway is a premium.

 

Miraflores

Location: Mijas

  

Golf Course Guide:

From this course set in the hills behind the Miraflores Golf resort, you can enjoy terrific views of the countryside down to the sea. Miraflores Golf is both beautiful and challenging, especially for those who enjoy their golf with elevated greens and water.

It was designed by Folco Nardi and has many interesting and challenging holes: Tee shots from both the 5th and 6th must clear the water and from the 8th you get a spectacular view over the out-of-bounds countryside, a lake divides the fairway on the 570-metre 12th, and the water hazard at the 15th forms a protective moat around the green.

There is also a floodlit golf academy, as well as a very hospitable club house.

 

Marbella Golf & Country Club

The Marbella Golf and Country Club uses the rolling Andalusian hillside to provide a testing but enjoyable round for players of all abilities. Course has many elevated tees which require accurate tee shots. The course has undulating fairways between the olive groves. The greens are large and undulating protected by bunkers. Lakes and the rough here can prove difficult.

 

Mijas Los Olivos

An interesting course that is not overly long by modern standards, Los Olivos offers a challenge by its variety of holes. Set amongst tree lined narrow fairways with elevated greens on the one hand, yet wide open with water in abundance on the other, Los Olivos is sure to offer something for everyone. The old converted farmhouse that provides the Clubhouse is the perfect retreat following your round. Los Olivos is a good course for all levels, very walkable parkland course.
